CA Foundation May 2026 Results Announced

ICAI has finally released the CA Foundation result for May 2026, and students across the country have been refreshing their screens all week, waiting for this. Now that the numbers are out, let's break down what actually happened this attempt. You can check your result directly on the ICAI official website.

CA Foundation May 2026 Result Statistics

This time, 90,217 students sat for the exam across 609 centres nationwide. Of them, 18,124 made it through, putting the overall pass rate at 20.09%.

Gender Appeared Passed Pass %
Male 46,798 9,769 20.88%
Female 43,419 8,355 19.24%
Total 90,217 18,124 20.09%

Male candidates cleared at a slightly higher rate, though the gap is small enough that it doesn't say much on its own. What stands out more is that both figures hover around the one-fifth mark, which is pretty typical for this exam. Foundation has never been an easy filter to clear.

Who Topped This Attempt

Three names lead the merit list this session, and their scores are close enough to make things interesting.

Rank Student Name City Marks (Out of 400) Percentage Roll Number
1 Sakshi Jain Nashik 371 92.75% 625231
2 Ayanabbas Ajani Chandrapur 367 91.75% 566625
3 Radha Unmesh Mulay Pune 365 91.25% 634489

Just six marks separate the first and third rank. At this level, that's basically nothing; it shows how tight the competition gets once you're near the top of the list.

Why the Pass Rate Stays Low

A pass percentage of 20.09% indicates how difficult the CA Foundation exam is. Passing the CA Foundation exam is not only about covering the syllabus but also having a proper understanding and practice.
Students who have passed the exam can begin preparing for the next level of Chartered Accountancy, whereas those who failed must analyse their preparation techniques and improve their weaker areas.

If This Wasn't Your Result

Didn't clear it this time? That's not the end of the road, not even close. A lot of CAs practising today didn't get through Foundation on their first go either. What actually helps is sitting down, figuring out exactly where you lost marks, and building a sharper plan for next time, rather than just repeating the same routine.
Whether you're prepping for your first attempt or coming back for a second try, the right support and a clear study structure usually make the difference between falling short again and finally seeing your name on that list.

If you’ve cleared it? Here's Your Next Step

If you’re among the 18,124 who have qualified, congratulations, but there is no time to rest on your laurels yet, because your next target is CA Inter, and your May 2027 effort is much nearer than you might think.
The difference between CA Foundation and CA Inter is significant. The syllabus becomes more difficult and elaborate, and you won’t have as much time for preparation because of all the other things that will occupy your schedule, including college. The best way to tackle CA Inter is to prepare well in advance.
CA Point's CA Inter May 2027 batches are built for you, with structured classes, experienced faculty, and a pace that's designed to get you exam-ready without last-minute panic.
